Living a happy simple life… my aim is to share part of my life – and tips that may make your life a little easier…
My name is Jo… and this is my first blog post…
Well, not exactly.
I still have blog accounts on Blogger that I long ago abandoned due to lack of know-how and motivation.
This time, I’m determined to blaze a different blogging trail…
My goal is pretty simple – I strive to lead a more simple life, away from the maddening world of “job”. I am so much more happier when I’m working at home.
Those friends out there who know me know: I love my home… my family… my friends and most important of all, I love my God, Jehovah. I want to devote more time to each one of them.
But in reality, I still need some income to supplement my pension if I am to reach this ideal. It’s not that my retirement income is meager, but it just falls short of my needs. And should something befall me in the future (which could happen to anyone), I may still be able to keep up with this blogging life.
That being said…
Some of my friendly chats may include a recommendation or two (or more) from me over a choice product or service that I use… and I like to share things with my friends… and since I especially like to share information (those who know me know this is true), I will make a recommendation to you. (If I make a small commission by recommending a product or service, remember… I will never recommend something I don’t like or haven’t tried!)
My Photography…
Additionally, I plan to share my photography with you, which if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know I give you only the best of my art. I may even make it available for purchase if anyone is interested. You can follow me on Instagram @razzy_photos or @jorasmussenphotography
Not so long ago, I had one of my photographs put on canvas (disclaimer: not the photo below) – what a beauty it is! So, I would like to continue to add to the decor of my home using some of my personal photos. And possibly, you might like to do that too!

Wouldn’t it make a lovely wall hanging for my (or anyone else’s) wall?
Yes! And surprising, it was not that expensive to put a photo on canvas – at least not as expensive if I went in a retail store and bought some impersonal framed art or photo – somebody else’s photo or art – and at a pretty steep price at that!
And there is no “sentimental” or personal value to hanging an “unknown artist’s” art on my wall!
Family lore and antidotes, thoughts, tips and other stuff…
Believe me, I’ve led a pretty interesting life… so I will occasionally family fun, experiences, some personal thoughts, tips and other useful stuff with you – all around the theme of Living a Happy, Simple Life!
For instance, here are some mini-goals I think about and reach out for daily:
- Determine your actual needs
- Examine and eliminate unnecessary expenses
- Prepare a realistic budget
- Rid your life of things you do not use
- Pay down (or ideally pay off) your debt
- Cut back on working outside the home (a/k/a “j.o.b.”)
- Explore realistic ways you can be your own boss and work from home
I plan to write some posts around the above points – and my hope is that this will get your “brain-juices” moving – especially if your goal is to also live a more happy, simple life!
